|Western Canada Family Exploration
Canada 14 days ex Vancouver
Western Canada is one of our favourite destinations - with beautiful mountains and clear ocean, friendly locals and endless family
activities, this is the perfect family adventure. Join us as we take in the sights and sounds of Vancouver, explore the natural beauty of
Vancouver Island and the Pacific coast, swim, bike and hike in the renowned Whistler resort village, and toast hot dogs around the campfire
in the peaceful Fraser Valley. This tour combines free time, family activities and kids-only adventures to show you the best of Western
Canada, Bashukway style.
|Days 1-4 Vancouver
Arrive at the Vancouver International Airport and transfer to our downtown hotel. There will be a
group meeting on the evening of Day 1, where we get to know each other and go over our plans
for the next two weeks before heading out on a walking tour of downtown and grabbing dinner
down by the harbour. Over the next few days we take in the best of Vancouver: we bike around
beautiful Stanley Park, feed the ducklings at the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary, check out vibrant Granville
Island and make a trip to fascinating Science World - always a hit with Vancouver's kids.
Days 5-7 Victoria
We catch an evening ferry over to Victoria, 2 hours west of Vancouver. Victoria, capital of the
province of British Columbia, is a historic coastal city famous for its ocean views and unique
atmosphere. We spend three nights here, first exploring the city by bike, then heading farther
afield for some oceanside hikes. For the kids, there's an afternoon of laser tag on the agenda -
adults welcome too of course.
Days 8-9 Tofino
From Victoria we head over to Tofino, on the west coast of Vancouver Island and home to some of
the best surfing in Canada. Our time here includes an all-day family surf lesson, where certified
instructors teach you and your family how to ride the waves Canadian-style.
Days 10-12 Whistler
Heading back to mainland British Columbia, we drive along the famous Sea to Sky Highway to the
mountain resort of Whistler. Along the way the Museum of Mining offers gold panning classes to
try to seek your fortune then onward to Whistler for some hiking, biking, and nature walks. The
options in Whistler are endless, but we recommend taking a swim in one of the glacier-fed lakes,
hiking the area's alpine trails, and (for the adults), sampling some of the local beers in the
Days 13-14 Vancouver
Our final night is spent back in Vancouver and we indulge in a dinner cruise on the harbour with
the city lights reflecting off the water. It's a perfect place to sit and talk about the amazing
adventures we've shared before saying fond farewells.
You're free to depart anytime on day 14.
